Pieces of Me

PLEASE do not feel sorry for me as I chose this path.

Directly or indirectly, I lived on the edge.

The colors, RED,

BLACK. BLUE,

ORANGE, GREEN etc, represent:

the blood/red(constant physical violations)

but that red also represents the FIRE I have to succeed,

shame/blue

(how did I go from a valued veteran to THIS),

guilt/brown

(failing my children because of my own choices)

and remnants of the many ppl who left parts of THEIR story with me to learn and grow from. The wetness of the paint helped me recapture my alter ego,

MS JACKSON if ya nasty.

The textures are telling the story of the rough terrains of my VERY BRIEF desert storm experience and that 3 year prison stint. There were similar in so many ways. Dirty toilets and catty attitudes.

Today when I look at this piece, I see a LOGICAL MINDSET.

Feelings are not fact so

NO FEELING ZONE OVA HERE.

PRETTY WORDS ARENT ALWAYS KIND

AND KIND WORDS ARENT ALWAYS PRETTY.

MY art piece reveals I AM NOT A FAN OF EQUALITY RATHER EQUITY. That homeless brother doesn’t want that burger you stepped on.

DAYUM

I also see ATHENA in me, a WARRIOR,

yet my oh so feminine energy illuminates thru.

Our lives and experiences seem to pull out a greater hunger to win and bounce back. Odd, I never knew the contents of “my own house” which I dwelled in. My literary lust grows daily and reviewing the art image reminded me of how creative, dope, multi-dimensional and resilient I really am.

My RIGHTEUOS REBEL spirit is just like the art

SOME LOVE IT SOME HATE IT.

I am FAIR. The art represents the journey of returning to my

DIVINE SELF and to not only live but THRIVE

despite all the misguided paths and pitfalls.

My art reflects I AM THE CO AUTHOR OF MY OWN REALITY.
